WELCOME TO THE HISTORIC BARBEE HOTEL
Nestled between the serene waters of Big and Little Barbee Lakes in Kosciusko County, Indiana, the Barbee Hotel has been a cherished landmark since its inception in 1897. Originally known as the Hotel Ormond, it served as a tranquil lakeside retreat for travelers seeking respite from the bustling cities. After a devastating fire in 1921, the hotel was rebuilt in 1923 by Clara A. Davison and Charles H. Lincoln, ushering in a new era of elegance and hospitality .

The Barbee Hotel Story
Since 1897, the Barbee Hotel (originally Hotel Ormond) has welcomed celebrities and Chicago gangsters—Al Capone frequently stayed in Room 301, even reportedly commandeering the entire third floor during his visits
Local legends say the smell of cigar smoke still drifts from room 301, and some diners claim to have glimpsed a ghostly elderly man or heard a wailing voice in the night
